Getting Commercial Dishwasher Repairs
Fortunately for most people who run a commercial kitchen, dishwashers are fairly reliable pieces of equipment. With the correct maintenance, most dishwashers can last in excess of 10 years, this is only a rough figure though and one that is highly dependant on the environment the machine is kept in, how often dishes are washed and the ways that people actually maintain them.
There are so many things that you can do in order to prolong the life of your industrial dishwasher and make sure that you don’t actually need to many dishwasher repairs. These machines are made to last and to be able to handle thousands of wash cycles but that does not mean that you should neglect them. Dishwasher maintenance actually begins before you even purchase your machine, I know that sounds like a pretty strange thing to say but bear with me. Personally, I would always advocate buying a water softener, this may seem like yet another expense initially but they more than pay for themselves in the long run.
How does a water softener stop you from needing dishwasher repairs?
A water softener in a nutshell, will remove impurities from you dishwasher’s water supply. You may not understand the importance of it but hard-water is to a dishwasher what eating lots of bad fast is for your health, over time it will begin to clog up your system and make it difficult for water to be pumped around.
Unfortunately for commercial kitchens in the UK, around 90% of the UK qualifies for having what is commonly known as ‘hard water’. So the chances are if you operate a large scale kitchen in the UK and own a dishwasher then you will need some method of softening your water. Now there are a number of ways to actually going about softening your water, you can either have a permanent fixture and water softener or you can add a detergent to your machine which we also sell in our store.
As well as using a water softener. It is often a good idea to keep your machine in a clean and dust free area. This isn’t an issue for most people because they keep their machine in their kitchen, however we do have a number of customers who keep their dishwashers in less used sometimes dusty areas that are not particularly good for the machine.
